I’m not watching the show. But is the bad guy in the acolyte actually a sith? Or just a disgruntled Jedi? They seem to be the ladder from what I’ve been seeing UA-camrs cover the show. Also, Darth Maul first appeared with a red saber and put up a good fight with Qui Gon Jin, a Jedi master. Mai, on the other hand hasn’t actually put up a fight with any Jedi yet as I understand? And she also hasn’t demonstrated any dark side powers?

Of all the characters the Acolyte could have made a cameo with, they choose the one side character who, out of 1-3 lines they say, they say a line that contradicts the show they’re making.

Where is the money in this show? it’s really small episodes and it truly looks like a show with an extremely small budget. you would seriously think that this show was trying its best on a few million. thats what it looks like. to think it has a higher budget that House of the Dragon is truly staggering. it’s so bad that i can only assume that there will seriously be some sort of investigation. because one thing is absolutely certain- 180 million dollars was not spent on this show. not even a tenth was spent on this show. so where is the money? embezzlement, money laundering, some sort of real corruption has to of happened, nothing else makes sense. we might not ever hear about it but i would wager some sort of investigation is currently underway.

First of all, they did a good job with the twins when they are older. Simply because they are identical and its one actor. When they are kids, they are not twins. Side by side they look nothing alike. I dont know why they didnt do the same process.

The lame toy glo-stik lightsabers are actually starting to be painful to see. They don't look like an utterly lethal and dangerous weapon at all. They flex when they hit each other, adding to the unreality of it. It seems that the lighting is brought way down so that they appear brighter, making lightsaber combat literally dim. This is the least of my objections about this crap show, and Disney Star Wars in general. The unforgivable trashing of Luke Skywalker is something I will never get past. Go to Hell, Disney.

Sounds interesting, but I would offer my two cents in that: Only do what you're passionate about. If you just think it's a neat idea, let it remain that. However, if you're passionate about it and are willing to give it the attention and effort it deserves, go for it. I think that's the core difference from films, even fan ones, in the past compared to what we're seeing now. Creators today lack any passion for the content they are creating.

Hey Thor, I have to wonder if part of the problem here is editing and/or lacks of takes. A lot of these scenes, especially with Osha/Mae seem like they went with the very first take.

I did watch it. I really wanted to like this show. I’m a fan since 1977 seeing the OG as a 10yr old. But most of what Disney has done with Star Wars has not been good. Rouge one was excellent. Andor I’m looking forward too. Mando 1 & 2 were awesome. 3 not as much. I was taken out when Jack black showed up??

My guess would be the budget is being spent to pay inexperienced people the same amount of money that those with experience at senior levels would receive. That is why the show looks the way it does. The results when compared to other shows are apparent. Disney is all about inclusivity vs the best qualified for the job is my guess. They are not only preaching that culture, but living it as well. Unfortunately for everyone, the company and fans, there will be a major loss. Money and interest in the franchise.

Hey Thor, how about this? Plagueis (or Tenebrous) have tasked Qimir with discovering how the twins came to exist as part of his own research into creating life with the Force. They could have something to do with the incident that wiped out that coven, and they did it in such as way as to make the Jedi think it was their direct fault (something happened that clearly messed up at least half of that group of four and broke them in some way; why not have it just be a part of this "destroying the dream" bit Qimir was going on about?) Anyways, the 'real' master bungled and didn't get both of the twins because of the Jedi and now Qimir is on task to basically tie up loose ends and poison the Jedi's belief system... 🤔

The one problem with your argument is that virtually nobody watched Andor despite how great it was because they found it boring.

The writing is absolute garbage and the fact that (calling him this) Sol, Carrie Ann Moss and the other, let's gently call them paid actors manage to make it look half-decent. They at least sell what they're doing. Even if it is bonkers stupid. There are some things they could have done easily to make this work better. But the better the top tier actors are, the more clearly you can see how terrible writing is in other places. And I'll even say that the witch mother, the non-penis-bearing-life-bringer, she does a really good job. But again, it casts such a long shadow the weaker the writing is, the less effective any of it is. And yes, it feels so incredibly small. Personal story, yes. Absolutely, I have always wanted smaller stories on screen someplace. But it really feels like a CW show. Small, contained, checking boxes and running a formula. This is supposed to be a space-faring story. Make us feel small at points among the enormity of it.

i wish i could say im speechless, but unfortunately there's just so much to be disappointed with. unless they take notes from Andor season 2, i fear that decent disney star wars is a thing of the past.

As one of the "old guard" fans; the ones who watched and were utterly mesmerized by the original in theatres in 1978 as kids, and those who fell in love with the SW universe up until Lucas sold it all, I've just accepted that Disney has made a concrete decision that we are not needed - not wanted - in their "vision" of our beloved space opera. Apart from a few standouts, like Andor, where serious writers and actors really seem to want to make something good, the rest is clearly not for us. It just isn't. Which would be fine, if it weren't for the fact that their amateurish shit is now inextricably mixed, as lore, with the beloved parts. Like someone taking your much loved grandma's chocolate cake recipe and deciding, for reasons, that what it really needs is a sprinkling of sand in the mixture. You really want to eat that cake you always loved, but man, it gets harder and harder to endure crunching on that sand every bite (because it really does get in everywhere), until finally you simply give up and look for a cake that hasn't been ruined with sand. Or go back to enjoying Grandma's original recipe and pretending the new, sandy version doesn't exist, which is my stance now. Star Wars ended at RotJ, which includes Andor and Rogue One, and that's that.

Most Disney shows require pre-viewing (watching it first, before allowing the kids to watch) . this show (if that's what you want to call it) Doesn't need any pre-viewing, it's a no-go from jump street. We should be thanking Disney for making it so bad that it becomes a time saver.

I watched Episode 1, 2 and 3. Episode 3 made me stop watching. I hate to be part of the "oh it's so bad and it's ruining star wars" but I can't shake the feeling that Lesley Headland is trying to "from a certain point of view" us.. I feel like she idolizes Emperor Palpatine and sees him as a hero.
